Weight Loss Boot Camp

There are lots of great resources if you’re getting started on losing weight.  In fact, there are almost too many options to choose from, and it can get confusing.  It’s best to research pretty carefully before you jump into something.  It’s easy to get involved in, for example, a diet that may promise results but that may not be terribly healthy.  Or you may find yourself getting results but not motivated to stick with it, which means eventually you’ll probably end up gaining the weight back.

Whatever you choose, it needs to be healthy, and it needs to be something that you’ll stick with.  If you end up gaining weight back, you’ll be no better off physically, and your emotional state will be worse off; putting on weight that you’ve struggled to take off is a damaging blow to your self-esteem.

A weight loss boot camp is a pretty extreme way to go.  They usually meet every morning for a couple of hours, and put your through a very difficult workout.  Some of them were even designed by marines!  They usually last for a month or so.

The disadvantage to a weight loss boot camp is that they’re pretty intense, and it’s easy to get tired of it and drop out.  Also, if you’re not up for rising early and working out for a couple hours a day, you may not have the stamina to see it through, even though they’ll do everything they can to hold you to it.

The advantage to a weight loss boot camp is that they’re usually very effective.  You will probably shed several pounds, and you’ll notice the difference when you look in the mirror.  For many people, seeing great results can be just the motivation they need to keep going, lose more weight, and keep the weight off.
