Coed Overnight Camps

A lot of parents fondly remember how exciting it was to be away from home for the first time, in a camp in the mountains where you met new people and did all sorts of new activities.  But once it comes to letting their own children pick a summer camp, sometimes parents can have a little trouble letting go!

Often a child is not ready to be away from home for a long period of time, and often the parents are not ready for it, either!  But parents need to let their child go to an overnight camp if that’s what the child wants; overnight camps are safe and always well supervised.  (Or almost always; the most important thing you can do is to research a camp thoroughly and make sure it’s completely reliable and safe.)

Perhaps your child is not ready to leave home, but you want a way for him to work off his summer energy; in that case, a day camp is a great option.  That’s something that’s close to home, and usually specializes in a certain sport or hobby that your child enjoys.

If they’re more adventurous, a coed overnight camp is the next step up.  These can also be close to home, and consist of just one or two nights a week, or they can be further from home and last a month.  If your child is really adventurous and you have the resources, you can find amazing coed overnight camps all over the country.

Camp is a great way for your child to learn independence…that is, if you can bear to let him go!
