California Overnight Camps

California is one of the best states in the country to get out and enjoy nature in.  It’s one of the bigger states, and there are many different types of climates.  The weather is usually great, so if you’re interested in being outside, you’re probably in luck, weather-wise.  And due to all the different types of climate and terrains, there’s a huge variety of things to do and activities.

If you’re a parent and the thought of summer vacation and bored children is making you crazy, California overnight camps are a fantastic way to have your kids try something new.  Camps can run anywhere from one night to most of the summer, and there are activities that will thrill even the fussiest of children.

In California, overnight camps can take the form of sleeping under the stars at a zoo, or it can be sharing a cabin in the Sierra Nevadas.  You can work on a boat and spend the night on the ocean, or you could end up roasting marshmallows at a ranch.

If your child is interested in ocean life, you’re in a perfect spot.  Local aquariums and ocean institutes have summer programs set up for kids, and some include overnight stays.  If your child would rather spend the summer swimming and hiking in the mountains, there are plenty of mountains from which to choose!

The desert is also a great place for kids to spend the summer; it’s a beautiful area with interesting wildlife, and has activities all its own to interest kids.  In California, overnight camps can mean sleeping under the stars in the desert.
